Alumni Reps Quarterly Meeting | May 2024
Posted on May 26, 2024
The Friends’ Alumni Reps met on 15 May 2024, and included here is a summary of topics discussed:
- We heard from Principal Esther Hill around the School embracing the opportunities and adapting to the challenges from the implementation of L@F24+ and the purchase of the Argyle St Motor Lodge. The Motor Lodge will be run in its current format until a master plan has been formed to best develop the area for the needs of the School.
- Community Engagement shared the current and future focus for engagement including stewardship, giving, reunions and events, such as the success of the School Fair held on 4 May. Over $11,000 was raised for the events’ nominated charity Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. We also had a successful Class of 1974, 50 year reunion at the RYCT, with reunions for the Classes of 2014, 2004, 1994 and 1984 coming up in late May. Visit Reunions & Events on our website for more information and to book.
- An update from the Alumni Reps on the initiatives each of our Reps is undertaking. Progress has been made on co-curricular Marimba and Chess reunions (watch this space!) and a special correspondence program planned for the 2025 50+ attendees to write to incoming Kindergarten students. The past staff reunion is taking shape for November and the committee saw a draft careers video that will help establish the Friends’ alumni mentoring services through the School’s LinkedIn community.
