Parents & Guardians
Our families are what make our community so special.
Our families are what make our community so special. Guided by the Purpose and Concerns, we strive to create an inclusive and rich experience for all community members.
There are many ways for parents, guardians and carers to become involved in the life of the School if they choose to do so. Their help is always welcome and received with gratitude.
As stated in the School’s Learning Partnership Understanding;
“We understand that student learning is best enhanced through the development of a strong, collaborative learning partnership among all members of the School community. We understand that parents/guardians know their child. Upon enrolling, our families will work with the School to enter into the pursuit of healthy and purposeful relationships to achieve the aims articulated in the Purpose and Concerns.”
Our parent/guardian community is strong because of the many people who dedicate their time to organising a range of special events and functions each year. Many of these events provide an excellent opportunity to support fellow parents and the School, showcase our students’ achievements and values in action, and learn more about our Quaker heritage.
The School provides School Handbooks for Friends’ Early Learning, Primary School (Kindergarten to Year 6), Middle School (Years 7 & 8) and Senior School (Years 9 to 12).
The year is full of wonderful student, parents and community events and activities. Please visit our School Calendar or Events page for details.
The Friends’ School takes road and traffic safety very seriously. As a central Hobart school with almost 1,300 students, we all have a responsibility to take extra care around our neighbouring roads when travelling to and from the School. Please visit the Road Safety page for details.
The School Shop is the retail outlet for the School and is the only authorised retailer of The Friends’ School uniform. The Shop also sells a range of stationery and textbooks for students in Years 7-12 during the year. Please visit the School Shop page for details.
The Friends’ School offers a wide and varied Instrumental and Vocal Tuition program. If you would like to enrol your child in this program for 2024, please use the form here.
