Since the School was established in 1887 with generous gifts of funds and resources, community philanthropy has contributed to transformational change at the School, providing opportunities and accelerating growth for Friends’ students.
Our students today benefit from the generosity of past generations. They go on to make a positive impact in the world. Now it is our turn to invest in the students of today and tomorrow.
There are a number of ways to give through volunteering, gifts of funds to scholarship or building programs, or gifts in kind that connect with the heritage and history of the School. All gifts are appreciated – no matter the size.
The Friends’ School is registered and endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a deductible gift recipient (DGR). All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) Act 2012 is the national regulator and registrar of eligible organisations as charities. The ACNC requires the School to submit an Annual Information Statement for each financial year, which is available on its website.
Gifts to The Friends’ School are tax deductible in Australia so long as the gift is for a building, a library or a scholarship/bursary.
Gifts for other purposes are not tax-deductible in Australia.
If you have any doubt about the tax-deductible status of any gift you are seeking to make, please ask us to confirm the tax-deductible status of the gift or speak with your own lawyer.
